Big, New, Appetizing Additions

 

There’s always something good going on it seems like every quarter at Mimi’s and this season’s happenings are no exception. There’s so much going on that you’d think that Mimi’s is re-inventing itself in more ways than one.

Read on and see for your self why dining at Mimi’s Café is a seasonally new surprise.  

Here’s some nice tidbits about their presentations…

·         Hand Breaded: We hand bread our zucchini and all of our breaded chicken items

·         Hot from the Oven: Our popular quiches, signature muffins, carrot raisin nut loaf

·         Homemade: Mimi’s Cafe signature soups and salad dressings are made from cratch for maximum flavor and freshness

·         Real Dairy: Our mashed potatoes are whipped with real cream and butter

·         Made Daily: Whole turkey breast and pot roast, slow roasted throughout the day, meatloaf made from scratch

·         Signature Sauces: Pan sauces are made to order and are only available at Mimi’s Cafe

·         Pasta: All pastas are pan-seared to order using the freshest ingredients

·         Baked from Scratch: Mimi’s Bread Pudding, Chocolate Brownie and Fresh Apple innamon Crisp are prepared and baked on premise using only the freshest ingredients

·         Fresh Made Drinks: Fresh lemonade and freshly brewed iced tea

·         Regional Wine Lists: Mimi’s Cafe  uses a hands-on approach to selecting  wines. Each wine has been carefully chosen based on the regional preferences of their guests in order to complement the flavors of our menu

·         Fresh Mixers: They serve fresh orange juice and fresh lemonade to make the best tasting sparkling wine cocktails

How about some new seasonal items on the menu? But of course.

New Menu Items: For Lunch and Dinner

GRIDDLED PORK POT STICKERS (Appetizer): Their pork pot stickers are a custom-made product made with ground pork, fresh ginger, scallions, carrots and soy sauce, browned to order on the griddle, giving them a pan-fried effect. Their own sweet & sour sauce is used in the cooking process and drizzled on top.

The five pot stickers are served alongside tangy asian peanut slaw of Shaved cabbage, carrots and green onions tossed with a mixture of their homemade sesame dressing and spicy peanut sauce, and garnished with sesame seeds and green onions. It’s perfect for two.

CITRUS BROILED SHRIMP & FRESH ASPARAGUS (Seasonal Feature/Small Bite): They use their homemade citrus marinade for both the shrimp skewers and the fresh asparagus spears.

After the flavors have had a chance to sink in, they prepare this dish fresh-to-order, by placing them both on the flame broiler.

This incredible entrée is carefully constructed using the marinated shrimp and fresh asparagus, a garlic grilled crouton, baby greens, balsamic dressing and a sliced fresh strawberry.

It’s finished off by drizzling the shrimp with basil pesto aioli for the perfect finishing touch. This menu item is back by popular demand.

ORANGE ROUGHY OR MAHI MAHI (Seasonal Feature/Market Fish): They crust an 8 oz mahi mahi or orange roughy fillet by hand, with crushed macadamia nuts, pan-sear it to perfection and serve it with their own lemon caper butter sauce or artichoke & avocado salsa, (chunks of fresh avocado, with artichoke hearts, tomatoes, red onions, lemon juice, olive oil and seasonings).

Served with fresh broccoli and a choice of mashed potatoes or baby bakers. Mahi mahi or orange roughy can be simply grilled as an option if you like.

MEDITERANEAN CHICKEN FETTUCCINE (Pasta): All sautéed to order: julienned boneless chicken, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and fresh spinach tossed with fettuccine and tomato asiago cream sauce. Garnished with shredded parmesan cheese, diced tomatoes and sliced fresh basil. It’s full of flavor and cooked to order.

COUNTRY SHRIMP DINNER (Fish Market): Their country shrimp is a custom product made for them using plump shrimp (16/20 per pound, larger than their usual shrimp), buttermilk, breadcrumbs and a hint of cajun spices. They fry 8 shrimp in trans-fat-free cooking oil until crisp and golden brown and serve them with french fries coleslaw.

LEMON CREAM CHEESE SEASONAL MUFFIN: Similar to a lemon pound cake; made from batter enriched with lemon juice, lemon zest and rich cream cheese. They coat the warm muffins with homemade lemon glaze; adding a sweet and tart finish.

But is there more? For sure and it’s a surprise. Now they have an item available for lunch and one available for dinner that isn’t listed on the menu! All the menu says is, “Ask about their additional seasonal feature.”

New For Lunch

CHICKEN PESTO PATTY MELT (Seasonal Feature/Sandwich): They marinate a boneless chicken breast in basil pesto then cook it to order on the flat grill. The sourdough bread is spread end-to-end with garlic butter, pressed into fresh shredded parmesan cheese, and then grilled to a golden brown.

To build the sandwich they add basil pesto mayonnaise, fresh sliced tomatoes, grilled red onions and melted swiss cheese.

PETITE SEAFOOD FETTUCCINE (Seasonal Feature/Pasta): They grill a skewer of citrus marinated shrimp and sear a jumbo scallop, then place them atop fettuccine tossed with lump crab meat, garlic mushrooms, fresh spinach and a rich asiago cream sauce.

New For Dinner

SPICE RUBBED BABY BACK RIBS (Seasonal Feature/Entrée): They brush

their ribs with orange juice, then add a secret spice rub (yes, there is some Cajun spice in there…), then slow cook ‘em until they are falling off the bone; served slathered with homemade honey chipotle BBQ sauce and served with french fries and coleslaw.

SEAFOOD FETTUCCINE (Seasonal Feature/Pasta): They grill a skewer of citrus marinated shrimp and sear two jumbo scallops and place them atop fettuccine tossed with lump crab meat, garlic mushrooms, fresh spinach and a rich asiago cream sauce.

New Dessert

MIMI’S SWEET ENSEMBLE (Seasonal Feature/Dessert): A petite portion of each of their most popular homemade desserts to make the ideal sampler; includes Fresh Apple Cinnamon Crisp, Mimi’s Bread Pudding and a Triple Chocolate Brownie. “It’s a petite portion of their three top selling homemade desserts all on one plate.

And of course, you can’t forget breakfast at Mimi’s.

New Items For Breakfast

FRESH ASPARAGUS & POTATO CAKE BENEDICT (Seasonal Feature):

They begin by grilling citrus marinated asparagus to perfection, dropping their homemade southwestern potato cake in the fryer and poaching two AA eggs. It’s

Prepared, this #1 seller, to order, finishing it off with rich hollandaise sauce and serving it alongside the freshest strawberries and a melon wedge. This is back by popular demand.

FRESH ASPARAGUS OMELETTE (Seasonal Feature): Made to order with the freshest ingredients: diced asparagus, tomatoes and onions inside with jack cheese, grilled citrus marinated asparagus spears on top. To finish it off, they add homemade tomato cream sauce over the top.

EGGS FLORENTINE BENEDICT (Benedicts): An English muffin grilled golden brown then add steamed fresh spinach, grilled tomato slices, crisp bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.

Finally, know that in order for Mimi’s to keep their menu fresh and forward moving, they had to say goodbye to some current items (many are Seasonal Features designed to be served for a limited time only).
