Coyote Springs
PGA Golf Club Makes Debut
After years in the making, one of the West’s most anticipated golf course developments has opened its first course for daily-fee play! Located 50 minutes north of Las Vegas, PGA Golf Club Coyote Springs is the first new course to open in the Vegas area in more than six years and is certainly one of the most ambitious projects the region has ever seen.
Initial development plans call for up to a dozen golf courses to be built at Coyote Springs over the next half-century and hundreds of thousands of residents relocating to this new desert sanctuary.
Golf Is A Passion
At PGA Golf Club Coyote Springs, golf is in their blood. They live it, breathe it and can’t get enough of it. In fact, you’ll see this passion in everything they do – from impeccable course conditions and outstanding customer service to those developer Harvey Whittemore partnered with to build the golf experience. So when it came time to design the first golf course at PGA Golf Club Coyote Springs, they went with the legend…Jack Nicklaus.
The Home of Golf in the West
PGA Golf Club is part of the larger PGA Village
Coyote Springs. The PGA Village campus is slated to become the Western home of
the PGA of America. This expansive facility, only
the second of its kind in the
world, will offer golfers a unique destination and provide one of the foremost
learning and practice facilities in the country.
More Than Just Spectacular Golf
Sure, all this pretty golf looks good. The unending views, an incredible Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course that stirs you deep in your soul and an unequaled practice facility. But that just scratches the surface of what Coyote Springs has to offer.
Spectacular Location
Located in one of the most dramatically beautiful regions of Southern Nevada, PGA Golf Club Coyote Springs is less than an hour’s drive from Las Vegas, free from the hustle and bustle of The Strip. From Las Vegas take I-15 north to US 93. Coyote Springs is located at the intersection of US 93 and State Route 168.

Jack Nicklaus Signature Course – The Chase
Jack Nicklaus' Signature-designed course - The Chase - at PGA Golf Club is a challenging 7,471-yard layout and is the first golf course in a series of Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses that will flow throughout the Coyote Springs community.
The Chase is a par-72 Nicklaus Signature design that measures 7,471 yards for the Black or Championship tees (75.8 rating, 141 slope), 6,807 yards from the Blue tees (72.0/137), 6,268 yards form the White tees (69.7/132), and 5,349 yards from the Red or forward tees.
Eleven lakes come into play on the golf course many consider to be one of Nicklaus' finest desert creations ever conceived.
The Chase's lush rye-grass fairways are set against a dramatic desert backdrop, with mountain vistas in every direction. Green complexes are fortified by deep, white-sand bunkers and feature plenty of movement and plateaus that are ripe for strategic pin placements.
The pure golf experience at PGA Golf Club is enhanced by the club's caddie program. The caddies - PGA Golf Club Ambassadors - will offer an invaluable service to each guest and provide the information and tools necessary for the lowest round possible.
In addition to The Chase, a second golf course at PGA Golf Club is under development. This second course, a collaboration between Jack Nicklaus and legendary architect Pete Dye, is expected to be under construction by 2010.
· Grasses: Fairways, tees and rough: Common rye grass;
· Greens: Bent grass
The Setting: Tucked between two picturesque mountain ranges in the high desert 50 miles north of Las Vegas, Coyote Springs offers a breathtaking setting accented by native grasses, cacti, sage and other indigenous plants. Sweeping views of the mountains and sapphire blue sky canopy add to the drama and natural beauty of the site.
Water comes into play on 11 holes and each has been framed by mountain views and sculpted landforms that will enhance the challenge and beauty of the golf experience.
Strategy and shot values were integral to the design of each hole, and the course will present a substantial challenge to those who choose to play from the back tees. However, Nicklaus properly balanced the risk-reward considerations from every tee position to ensure that they are appropriate for the skill level of those players.
